Constitution

  • Unification of those that practice the loss adjusters profession
  • To advance the efficiency and utilization of the loss adjuster, demanding strict rules of professional behavior by the association’s members and achieve high levels of training and knowledge
  • The foundation and preservation of an extensive library
  • Publication of informative newsletters regarding current affairs of the association and the loss adjusting profession in general
  • Organization of lectures, seminars and other training programs

Details of Publication

Newsletters are currently distributed to HALA members via e-mail on an ad hoc basis. Following the scheduled General Assembly in the course of 2015, we will commence distribution of bi-annual newsletters.

Education and Training

The education system developed by HALA is based on two types of professional accreditation, as defined by FUEDI, that a loss adjuster can obtain:

Level 1 - European Loss Adjusting Expert (hereinafter referred to as “ELAE”) is an expert who is registered with a FUEDI member association and has acquired:

  • Academic education such as Bachelor or Masters degree
  • 8 years of experience as a loss adjusting expert (Bachelor degree)
  • 6 years of experience as a loss adjusting expert (Masters degree)

In order to obtain the ELAE accreditation, the loss adjuster must pass the insurance examinations standards as defined by FUEDI and implemented by HALA. Level 1 exams include:

  • Specific knowledge of insurance
  • Specific knowledge of loss adjusting
  • Claims assessment procedures
  • Report writing
  • Specialist knowledge of certain loss adjusting aspects

Level 1 experts who have passed these examinations may use the title: “ELAE - EUROPEAN LOSS ADJUSTING EXPERT”

Level 2 - National Loss Adjusting Expert (hereinafter referred to as “NLAE”) is an expert who is registered with a FUEDI member association and has acquired:

  • Academic education such as Bachelor of Masters degree
  • Has 5 years of experience as a loss adjusting expert (Bachelor degree)
  • Has 3 years of experience as a loss adjusting expert (Masters degree)

In order to obtain the NLAE accreditation, the loss adjuster must pass the insurance examinations standards as defined by FUEDI and implemented by HALA. Level 2 exams include:

  • General knowledge of insurance
  • General knowledge of loss adjusting
  • Claims assessment procedures
  • Report writing

Level 2 experts who have passed these examinations may use the title: “NLAE – NATIONAL LOSS ADJUSTING EXPERT”.

Individuals who do not hold higher education titles but who have gained 10 years claims experience, of which a minimum of 5 years is loss adjusting working with a qualified level 1 or level 2 loss adjusting expert, will be allowed to take the level 2 examination.

Agenda

The General Assembly of HALA will be held in the course of 2019.
